Reaching only your second European Under-21 final is enough reason to be joyful, but beating your Nordic neighbours Denmark in the process was clearly just too much to take for Sweden striker John Guidetti.
The former Manchester City forward gave a passionate interview following his side's 4-1 win over Denmark on Saturday, during which he labelled the opposition as the "worst team" in the tournament.
Guidetti's uninhibited interview began when he was asked how it felt to be in the finals of the competition in the Czech Republic after the game, which he had scored a 23rd-minute penalty in.
"Maybe it's time for them to go home," the 23-year-old replied.
"Stop saying that we're easy to play against when you lose 4 to 1. It's a bit embarrassing. We're best in the Nordics. Now we're going to play in the final, we're Sweden - the rest can just go home.
"We let them talk...we let them talk, we let them say what they needed. But in the end, it's about showing results and they have just talked and show no results.
"We were superior. Totally superior. This is the worst team we've met in the U21 Euro."
After being told by the presenter that he shouldn't be mad but instead pleased at his side's result, Guidetti answered: "I'm super happy. We're the best in the Nordics. That's how it is."
The striker, who spent last season on loan at Celtic before being released by City in June, helped set Sweden on their way to the 4-1 victory with his opening spot-kick.
Guidetti is now just one goal off Sweden's all-time leading U21 scorer, Ola Toivonen, and could surpass his compatriot when his nation play Portugal in the European Under-21 final on Tuesday.
