Odion Ighalo scored twice as Watford secured three points against Liverpool in a comfortable afternoon’s work from Qique Sanchez Flores’s side.

It was the Hornets fourth top-flight win on the bounce, while for Jurgen Klopp’s side it was their third match in a row without victory.

The hosts went ahead inside two minutes when Nathan Ake capitalised on a howler from back-up goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, who had replaced No1 Simon Mignolet in the starting line-up with the Belgian ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Watford would double their lead inside the opening 45 minutes when Ighalo overpowered Martin Skrtel to score his first, before adding his second, and his side’s third, with less than five minutes remaining.
