Watford winger Ken Sema completes Udinese loan switch

Surplus to requirements: Watford's Ken Sema will spend the rest of the season on loan in Serie A

Watford winger Ken Sema has joined Udinese on loan for the season.

The Sweden international only moved to Vicarage Road last summer after the Hornets agreed a deal with Ostersunds FK.

Sema featured fairly regularly for Watford last season, making 22 appearances and scoring his first goal away at Bournemouth.

However, the 25-year-old has now been allowed to leave on loan and will spend the season with Italian club Udinese - who, like Watford, are owned by the Pozzo family.

Sema’s departure is partly down to the arrival of winger Ismaila Sarr, who signed from Rennes for a club record fee of around £30million on transfer deadline day.

That has pushed Sema down the pecking order and he will hope to gain more first-team football at Udinese.

He may not be the last Watford player to leave this summer, with strikers Isaac Success and Stefano Okaka also attracting interest from clubs in Italy.
