Wayne Rooney has been pictured arriving at Everton's training ground as his Manchester United departure moves closer.
The 31-year-old looks set to head in the opposite direction to Romelu Lukaku and return to the club where he made a name for himself before moving to Old Trafford in 2004.
It has been reported that Rooney will now undergo a medical ahead of the transfer, which is linked to but not contingent on Lukaku departing Everton for United.
Rooney will depart United as their record goalscorer with 253 to his name and during his 13-years in Manchester won five Premier League titles, an FA Cup and the 2008 Champions League.
However England's record goalscorer saw his influence wane over recent years and he managed only 15 starts in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho last season, scoring five goals and providing as many assists.
Rooney has previously said that he would only consider a return to Everton if he left United for another English club and donned a Toffees' shirt in the summer of 2015 to play in Duncan Ferguson's testimonial. His former club were also the opponents when the time came for Rooney's achievements at Old Trafford to be acknowledged at the start of last season.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman said in March that he would welcome Rooney back at Goodison Park.
"He still has two or three years in front of him to play at the highest level," Koeman said. "What will happen at the end of the season, I do not know?
"In my opinion he's one of the players who can make Everton stronger than they are now."
