‘We must not take the Newcastle fans for granted’

Alan Pardew fears Newcastle’s dreadful away form is already having an effect on the numbers of their fans going to these games.

Newcastle go to Norwich tomorrow on the back of last week’s FA Cup exit at Championship side and Pardew (above) says his team must sharpen up after a run of seven defeats in a row on the road.

The Newcastle manager said: “There is a misconception players take the fans for granted and accept they will be there.

“They will not be, unless we start putting in a few performances and gain a few wins away from home between now and the end of the season. All the good faith we gained is slowly eroding it away.”
