Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic thrives under the pressure of being in the only unbeaten team left in the Premier League, and is desperate for the Blues to become the ‘new Invincibles’.

No team has gone unbeaten throughout a top-flight season in England since Arsenal in the 2003-04 campaign, but as far, Chelsea are on course.

Jose Mourinho’s men have gone 13 games without a loss in the Premier League, only dropping points on three occasions, and Matic is keen to keep up the excellent form.

“We are in a determined mood and there is more pressure for us because we want to go through the season unbeaten,” he said. “We want to be the new Invincibles.

“I want to win every game if possible.

“People can say the unbeaten record is putting more pressure on is, but I would rather have it this way because winning is never boring.

“When you win, training feels better and so does playing matches.

“I don’t know if we are better than the Chelsea team who won the title 10 years ago, but we know our qualities and we are a stylish team.”
