Arsene Wenger: I would not even consider signing Harry Kane

Arsene Wenger insists he could never sign Harry Kane because he plays for Tottenham.

Kane trained with the Gunners as a nine-year old but was later released and although the striker has since established himself in the Premier League and as an England international, Wenger claims the history between the two clubs would make it impossible.

“I think he is a very interesting and very strong striker,” said Wenger, who signed Sol Campbell from Spurs in 2001. “He has top qualities and I think he will make a great career. Once a player is at Spurs you do not even consider him anymore to be on your radar because you do not historically have many transfers from one club to the other.”
