West Ham's poor form continued this afternoon as they slumped to a 4-2 defeat to West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Slaven Bilic demanded a reaction from his side after last week's collapse against Watford - but did not get one until it was too late.

The Hammers started slowly and fell behind when Nacer Chadli slotted home from the spot after Arthur Masuaku was penalised for handball.

Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini attempted to add a bit of spark to the east Londoners' play while Michail Antonio saw his shot well saved by Ben Foster.

Tony Pulis' side doubled their advantage in fortuitous circumstances when Angelo Ogbonna fired a clearance onto Matt Phillips, which sent the ball straight into the path of Chadli.

The Belgian squared to Salomon Rondon who swivelled before firing a fierce strike past Adrian.

And the Baggies were in dreamland when yet more poor defending from the visitors allowed James McClean a chance to poke Chadli's miscued shot into the back of the net from close range.

Bilic made a double substitution at half time but the hosts went even further in front when Rondon raced clear after a poor Hammers' corner and set up Chadli for the easiest of tap-ins.

The Baggies were out of sight at that point but West Ham came roaring back into the game courtesy of a quickfire double when Antonio nodded home his fifth goal of the season and Manul Lanzini slotted home from the penalty spot.

West Ham rallied as West Brom's confidence deserted them but the damage had been done and Bilic's side stay in 17th place.

With all of the bottom three still to play this weekend, West Ham could soon find themselves in the drop zone. The pressure is on.
