West Ham and Crystal Palace share the spoils in our London team of the week

Standard Sport6 May 2014

West Ham's 2-0 win over London rivals Tottenham sees them share the honour of having three representatives in Standard Sport's team of the week, in association with Whoscored.com.

Sam Allardyce's team were winless in April before defeating Spurs, thanks to a Harry Kane own goal and Stewart Downing strike. Downing, Carroll, whose header was deflected by Kane, and Mark Noble represent the Irons in our team.

Noble, who made nine tackles and 53 successful passes in the derby is our London player of the week.

West Ham could have won by a greater margin were in not for the heroics of Hugo Lloris. The French shot stopper makes our XI and is Spurs' sole representative.

Crystal Palace's rousing three goal comeback against Liverpool on Monday night was one of the displays of the weekend.

The Eagles, who have enjoyed a stunning run of form in the latter third of the season to secure their Premier League status for another season, have three players in our elite team; Mile Jedinak, Joe Ledley and Yanick Bolasie.

The future of Chelsea stalwarts John Terry and Ashley Cole might be clouded in uncertainty with both out of contract this summer. But the veteran defenders put in a solid shift at Stamford Bridge as the Blues kept a clean sheet against a spirited Norwich side.

Arsenal defenders, Bacary Sagna and Per Mertesacker complete the eleven, thanks to a typically assured performance in the 1-0 win against West Brom.
