Tottenham and West Ham have been charged by the FA with failing to "ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion" during Saturday’s game at the London Stadium.

A 21-man melee took place in the dying moments of Spurs' 3-2 win at West Ham after a foul by Andy Carroll.

A statement from the FA read: "West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged by The FA following their fixture on Saturday (September 23, 2017).

"It is alleged that in or around the 95th minute of the game, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

"They have until 6pm on September 28, 2017 to respond to the charge."

Spurs had claimed a three goal lead at the London Stadium thanks to a Harry Kane brace and Christian Eriksen's fine finish. But Javier Hernandez's goal and Serge Aurier's red card set up a grandstand finish as West Ham pressed for an equaliser.

Cheikhou Kouyate scored the hosts' second before Carroll was denied a penalty after a collision with Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez.

Four players (West Ham pair Carroll and Winston Reid and Tottenham's Eric Dier and Fernando Llorente) were booked during the incident, with Andre Ayew also receiving a yellow card during stoppage time.
