West Ham took advantage of an unexpected day off on Saturday to get players and staff jabbed amid the Covid-19 chaos.

A mixture of positive tests and injuries at Norwich last week saw the Premier League accept the Canaries' request to postpone Saturday's game at the London Stadium.

Rather than giving his squad the day off, manager David Moyes and his medical staff decided to encourage players and staff members to get jabbed at the club’s Rush Green training ground.

The squad reported for training on Saturday and while there were given the chance to use the vaccination hub which had been set up on site.

A number of players and staff received their booster dose while others came forward for their second and first jabs as the club push to get everyone protected just days after it was announced that 25 per cent of players in the Football League do not intend to get jabbed.

West Ham declined to reveal the exact percentage of players who have been vaccinated at the club, but it is understood the majority of the first-team squad and support staff in their bubble have been jabbed.

The Hammers have not suffered a serious outbreak so far this month as rivals struggle to play. As of Monday morning, the east Londoners had no concerns over Wednesday's Carabao Cup quarter-final tie at Tottenham to go ahead.
