Jarrod Bowen was the star of the show as West Ham beat Brentford 4-2 on Monday night.

Two goals inside the first seven minutes greeted Lucas Paqueta’s return to the team as the Brazilian helped tee Bowen’s first up, before Vladimir Coufal and Mohammed Kudus combined well to set up the second.

Neal Maupay cut the deficit before Bowen headed home for his first career hat-trick on 63 minutes.

Emerson Palmieri’s peach of a hit from distance made it 4-1 before Yoane Wissa’s consolation.

Here’s how David Moyes’ side rated at the London Stadium...

Alphonse Areola 7

Made a vital save to deny Frank Onyeka a goal that would have made it 3-2 and set up a nervy finish.

Vladimir Coufal 7

Back to his early season form as an attacking threat, making Bowen’s second and almost setting up a third for Soucek.

Konstantinos Mavropanos 6

Preferred to Nayef Aguerd but allowed Maupay a free run across him for the goal.

Kurt Zouma 6

Dragged badly out of position for Maupay goal. Improved in the second half but passive against Wissa for consolation.

Emerson 8

Looked so much more comfortable playing with Paqueta on the left. Assisted Bowen’s opener with cut-back, then put the icing on the cake with a stunner.

Tomas Soucek 6

Missed a terrific chance when meeting James Ward-Prowse’s flick early on. Late runs caused problems all evening.

Edson Alvarez 7

Won the ball in build-up to the opener and important in keeping Brentford at bay in nervy spell after half-time. Booked.

James Ward-Prowse 7

His best performance for some time. Properly busy in the middle of the park.

Mohammed Kudus 8

Back on his preferred right flank and therefore able to make those trademark surges inside. Made assist for Bowen’s third look so easy.

Jarrod Bowen 9

Took less than five minutes to end his goal drought, then another two to make it officially his most prolific top-flight campaign. Finished with a first West Ham hat-trick. Outstanding.

Lucas Paqueta 7

Return from injury gave fans and teammates a lift. Will take a bit of getting back up to speed but presence alone made such a difference.
