West Ham v Newcastle team news: Andy Carroll remains on the bench

England striker Andy Carroll was named on West Ham's bench for their Barclays Premier League clash with Newcastle at Upton Park.

The 25-year-old made his first appearance against Cardiff last weekend, playing 18 minutes, since recovering from a long-term foot injury.

Newcastle were unchanged from the side defeated 2-0 by Manchester City on Sunday, with striker Loic Remy spearheading their attack.

West Ham: Adrian, Rat, Collins, Johnson, Taylor, Collison, Noble, Downing, Diame, Jarvis, Carlton Cole. Subs: Chambers, Carroll, Maiga, Morrison, Diarra, Jaaskelainen, Joe Cole.
