What can the Premier League learn from the NFL?

While the most recent London showcase flattered to deceive as the New York Jets cruised to victory over the Miami Dolphins, there’s no hiding from the global beast that is the NFL.

Despite landing in the midst of the Rugby World Cup, Wembley and the NFL drew in a bigger crowd than the one that witnessed England’s defeat to Australia at Twickenham less than 24 hours earlier. Quite the achievement.

Its draw is monumental, and as the NFL continues to take the UK by storm it begs the question: What can it teach England’s once beautiful game?

That’s what Copa90 and NFL UK broadcaster, Nat Coombs, are trying to find out.

Speaking to NFL-convert Martin Calladine, journalist Paolo Bandini and Head of NFL UK, Alistair Kirkwood, topics of salary caps, financial incentives and the very socialist nature of the sport are all discussed, but could any of it work within the Premier League?
