There can be no doubt that Chelsea deserve to be champions. Having led from the first round of fixtures they were always strong favourites, but will they hold on to the crown next season?

Roman Abramovich's decision to bring back Jose Mourinho, the league's best manager, has been vindicated. After a transitional season in 2013/14 there can be no doubt that this is now a team in the manager's image, ready to dominate English football in the years ahead.

The club envisage this championship as the start of a new era of dominance, and they will expect to build on their double-trophy season, adding strength in midfield and defence as they prepare for an assault on European honours.

For Mourinho the priority will be winning the Champions League with a third club, an honour that would put him level with Bob Paisley and Carlo Ancelotti for the most wins by any manager and the only person to win the honour with three clubs.

Though the likes of Petr Cech are expected to move on from Stamford Bridge Paul Pogba, Raphaël Varane and Atletico Madrid's Koke will be at the top of Chelsea's shortlist as they look to improve their squad.
