Harry Kane, Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil have been recognised for their contributions to their respective club's campaigns after being shortlisted for the 2016 PFA Player of the Year award.

The London-based trio join Leicester stars Jamie Vardy, N'Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez for the gong, which is chosen by fellow footballers, following their showings this term.

Kane currently leads the Premier League goalscoring charts with his 22 strikes for Tottenham, which has played a huge role in Spurs challenging Leicester for the title.

Arsenal midfielder Ozil has also made the cut thanks to his 18 assists for the Gunners while Payet has enjoyed a stunning debut season since arriving from Marseille last summer - scoring nine goals and registering eight assists for Champions League-chasing West Ham.

The trio will now go up against Leicester's Vardy, who has scored 21 goals this season, Kante and Mahrez for the PFA Player of the Year.

But who do you think deserves to win it this year? Have your say by voting in Standard Sport's Poll of the Day below!
