Jeremy Christie earns New Zealand World Cup spot

Tampa Bay Rowdies midfielder Jeremy Christie has been chosen in New Zealand's squad for the World Cup in South Africa.

Christie, who joined FC Tampa Bay this season after playing most of his career in New Zealand, was included by coach Ricki Herbert in a squad which contains 12 overseas-based players and two new caps: Denmark-based defender Winston Reid and young local midfielder Aaron Clapham.

Blackburn Rovers central defender Ryan Nelsen will captain the side.
