Kaka's on way back

Andrew Hodgson10 April 2012

Kaka practised this morning with the Brazil squad in the South Americans' first full training session in South Africa ahead of the World Cup.

Kaka had been practising separately because of a left thigh muscle injury, but took a full part in training and appeared unaffected by the injury.

Coach Dunga had said the Real Madrid star would take it slowly in the team's first days in South Africa but would be ready for Brazil's World Cup opener against North Korea on 15 June.

"Kaka knows what he can do and he will feel when he is fully ready," Dunga said.

Striker Luis Fabiano, who arrived in South Africa nursing a leg muscle injury, also joined Kaka and the rest of the players in a practice session.

Dunga, World Cup-winning captain in 1994, wants the players to spend time together to improve team spirit.

"We have to gain a group aspect again," Dunga said. "It's been a long time since we played together, so there are many details that we have to adjust before the World Cup begins."

Brazil's have not played since a friendly against Ireland in March.
