F1: United States Grand Prix race start time UK, grid positions and how can I watch on TV today?

Marc Mayo23 October 2022

The United States Grand Prix takes place today as the 2022 Formula One season reaches its final stretch.

Max Verstappen’s rather unusual title coronation in Japan finally ended the talk of permutations and turned attention towards the fight to be named the best of the rest, as Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez scrap for second, though both will start down the grid after penalties in Austin as Carlos Sainz leads the way.

Focus will naturally drift towards next season for much of the paddock, although 2021 remains on some lips due to the ongoing cost-cap dispute that has embroiled Red Bull, who are also hoping to be crowned this year’s constructors’ champions this weekend. The death of team owner Dietrich Mateschitz aged 78 after a long illness was announced on Saturday.

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton continue to target their first race win of the season with Austin’s Circuit of the Americas a happy hunting ground for the Brit.
