Fulham ground share on hold

Fulham's hopes of moving in with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in time for next season look doomed to fail.

The clubs are both keen for the groundshare to go ahead, but planning permission is needed because of restrictions on the use of the stadium and an application could take months to process once it is lodged.

Rich and influential neighbours who live near to Stamford Bridge are likely to mobilise against the scheme and Fulham and Hammersmith Council will have to carry out extensive consultation.

Fulham would need permission to be granted this month so they could get out of an agreement to share with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road for a second season.

DAVID TUTTLE has taken up a scouting role at Millwall following his retirement from football because of a persistent ankle injury.

Manager Mark McGhee values the 30-year-old's experience and has found a new role for him at The Den.

McGhee said: "He's a good lad to have around the place. And we wanted to find him something else."
