Giggs feeling same spirit of 1999 Treble

13 April 2012

Ryan Giggs has said he believes that Manchester United are starting to build the same momentum which propelled them to a Treble in 1999.

After pocketing the Carling Cup at Wembley on Sunday, United are back on League duty at Newcastle tomorrow night.

With a seven-point lead over Chelsea and a game in hand, United appear to be in an impregnable position.

Then comes Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final with Fulham before the Champions League return with Inter Milan.

The 35-year-old, who won his 29th winners medal on Sunday, said: "The momentum was with us in the Treble year. We played well and had a lot of luck and kept winning and then you can't wait for the next game."
