Graeme Dott's over the moon after thrilling Crucible win

Win: Graeme Dott
13 April 2012

Graeme Dott booked his place in the World Snooker Championship semi-finals today after a thrilling 13-12 victory against Mark Allen.

The Scotsman came back from 12-10 down to beat Allen and is certain to be back in the top 16 after dropping out last year.

The match had been deadlocked at 8-8 overnight and Dott won the opening two frames today before Allen hit back to draw level at 10-10 going into the interval.

The Northern Irishman, who reached last year's semi-finals, then took the next two frames before Dott pulled himself together and won the next three - including a break of 115 in the 23rd frame - to seal a stunning victory.

Dott, who has battled back from depression during his career, punched the air with delight after his amazing fightback.

He said: "It was a great game. We both played really well and just hit each other constantly for two days.

"My temperament is pretty good and I never let it bother me - and I knew if I got a chance that I was playing well enough to take it.

"That was the match that gets me back into the top 16. If I'd lost that match 13-12 it would have been hard not being in the top 16. But I'm over the moon.

"I've got a lot of points, a lot of money and I'm in the semis, so I've got a chance to win it."

Meanwhile, Steve Davis bowed out of the World Championships this afternoon as he lost 13-5 to Australian Neil Robertson.

The 52-year-old six times champion won the opening frame of the session to trail 12-5 but Robertson hit a break of 107 in the next to clinch the match and a place in the semi-finals.
