Graham ignores abuse as Spurs nick win

13 April 2012

George Graham sidestepped the abuse he received from Tottenham fans at Maine Road as his side secured all three points.

Sergei Rebrov scored Spurs' first goal in 461 minutes of Premiership action to snatch a 1-0 win over Manchester City and record their first away league victory of the season.

Before the winner Spurs fans taunted their team's manager with cries of: "Graham is an Arsenal fan," but the former Gunners boss preferred to praise his side.

"I'm very happy," he said. "It's been a long time coming, three points away, and it's been a great week for the club and the supporters.

"There's a great team spirit among the boys and it looked like it was going to be another draw.

"It was a terrific move for the goal, a really good passing move.

"In the second half City threw everything at us and with a little bit of luck they could have scored one or two goals.

"But they didn't, we took advantage of that and finished the game with another clean sheet and a goal.

"So I'm pleased for the club and the supporters, and most importantly the players.

"The results we've achieved in this eight-match run, I think have been fantastic results with the injuries we've had."
