Greece captain faces drugs ban

Greece captain Thodoris Zagorakis faces up to a two-year ban after testing positive for the use of anabolic steroids, his club AEK Athens confirmed today.

The 31-year-old former Leicester midfielder, who was expected to play against England in a World Cup qualifier on 6 June, claims antibiotics prescribed by the club doctor to combat a heavy cold were responsible.
