Griffin blow for Wakefield

14 April 2012

Relegation favourites Wakefield have been handed another disciplinary headache following a decision to order England prop Darrell Griffin to appear before the Rugby League's disciplinary committee in Leeds on Tuesday.

Griffin was placed on report for an alleged dangerous tackle during the Wildcats' 14-12 home defeat by Leeds on Friday night and was on Monday ruled by the League's video review panel to have a case to answer.

Wakefield are still without Australian forward Ben Catic, who is serving a three-match ban for a head-butt, but captain Monty Betham will return from suspension for his side's next match, which is away to Challenge Cup finalists St Helens on Friday week.

The disciplinary committee face a busy night, with Paul Rauhihi (Warrington), Jerome Guisset (Catalans) and Jason Payne (Castleford) making appearances following their dismissals at the weekend.
