Harley makes Blades switch

14 April 2012

Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has made his first signing of the summer by agreeing a three-year deal with Fulham defender Jon Harley.

The 25-year-old full-back, who has spent time on loan at Bramall Lane during each of the past two seasons, will officially move north on July 1.

The ex-Chelsea man also had a loan spell with West Ham last term as he struggled to break into the Cottagers' first team.

Warnock told the Blades' official website, www.sufc.co.uk: "Jon performs best when he is happy in his environment, and I think it's true to say he hasn't been over the last few years.

"That's what he needs right now and I am expecting him to compliment our left side.

"He has taken a big drop in wages to come here but I can't see anything but good times ahead for him."
