Henry delighted to join French 100 club

Century man: Henry now has 100 caps for France
13 April 2012

Thierry Henry has spoken of his pride at winning his 100th cap in France's 1-0 Euro 2008 warm-up win over Colombia last night.

The former Arsenal forward, now with Barcelona, is the sixth Frenchman to reach the century.

"Not many strikers from the big nations have reached 100 caps so this means a lot to me," said the 30-year-old after the Paris game.

Henry was fouled in the box to win the penalty, which Franck Ribery converted.

Captain Patrick Vieira will leave a decision on playing in Euro 2008 until the last possible moment.

He has a thigh injury and if he pulls out his place will be taken by another former Arsenal midfielder, Mathieu Flamini. France open their Group C campaign against Romania on Monday.
