Hislop pays price for late start

13 April 2012

Steve Hislop was fined £418 after he infringed the rules during qualifying for the European World Superbike round at Brands Hatch.

Hislop turned up late for his Superpole qualifying session where the top 16 riders get one fast lap to decide their grid positions at the Kent circuit.

Hislop, on the MonsterMob Ducati, finished second in Superpole for a front row start alongside fastest man Neil Hodgson on the GSE Ducati.

But the Scotsman's joy was soured a little by the fine as he had arrived at the starting bay after his specified time.

Hislop's team decided not to lodge an appeal against the fine of 1000 Swiss francs, which converts to a little over £418.
