Hooper's ton makes it safe

13 April 2012

Captain Carl Hooper hit another superb century to guide the West Indies to a safe position at the close of the fourth day of the Fourth Test against India in Antigua.

Hooper scored 136 as he and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 80 not out, shared a stand of 196 to make a draw look certain. With one day to go, the hosts are 405 for five in reply to India's 513 for nine declared.

Hooper, who made 233 in the First Test, was a second victim for Sachin Tendulkar. India's star batsman did the bulk of the slow bowling after injury forced Anil Kumble to retire. West Indies lead the series 1-0.
