Horner not worried over Vettel

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has no doubts Sebastian Vettel will rediscover the winning habit in Hungary this weekend.

By anybody's standards, starting third and finishing fourth - as Vettel did in Germany - was hardly a disaster. But given Vettel's achievements this season, of never having been off the front row of the grid and always in the top two come race day prior to the weekend, it was his worst grand prix of the year.

But Horner feels what unfolded in Germany was just a blip and he said: "He's had nine races where he has won or finished second. So being fourth and just off the podium is far from a disaster, and those 12 points will be very valuable to him."

He added: "I'm sure at his home grand prix he was hoping for more, but he was probably the most uncomfortable in the car this weekend that he has been all season.

"But then if you think back to 2009 it wasn't the best circuit for him either, so I'm sure he'll come back strong in a week's time."

Lewis Hamilton, who has now joined Vettel on 16 career wins, agrees with Horner that Vettel's below-par performance is unlikely to be repeated.

"You can't expect him to be perfect all the time," said Hamilton.

"He's won a huge amount of races from the end of last year into this year.

"It's easy for everyone to criticise him, just from one race, but he's been exceptionally consistent for a long time.

"For whatever reasons, I'm sure he will bounce back, he will be very quick at the next race and I think it's maybe a one-off."
