Huber hails 'perfect' Jamie

Feeling confident: Liezel Huber

Liezel Huber today insisted she can partner Jamie Murray to Wimbledon mixed doubles glory - because she doesn't have to do anything.

The duo are into the quarter-finals after beating sixth seeds Julian Knowle and Yung-Jan Chan 6-4, 6-3 and Huber is confident they can repeat Murray's success in the competition 12 months ago with Jelena Jankovic.

Huber, partnering Murray after Jankovic opted out of the event to concentrate on singles, is a vastly experienced doubles player and is also a defending champion this year in the ladies doubles.

But she claims she has never had a better mixed partner than Murray. Huber added: "He has a huge serve, a huge volley and in the women's game we don't see it so that's really fun out there. I just kind of stand there.

"I almost feel like I am not contributing enough but he hasn't asked me to do anything else, so that's okay.

"I just conserve my energy and just put it into the ball when necessary. I have never had a mixed partner that has been so active. I have played with a ton of good players, I have made some finals and we obviously have what it takes otherwise we wouldn't have chosen to play with each other. I am confident we will be in the final."

Huber and Murray will take on No2 seeds Daniel Nestor, of Canada, and Taiwan's Chia-Jung Chuang today for a place in the semi-finals.

Nestor and Chuang beat the Belarus pair of Max Miryni, Murray's men's doubles partner and Olga Govortsova 6-3, 7-6.
