Hughes: I'm not going to leave City

Mark Hughes: I'm not leaving
13 April 2012

Mark Hughes has denied reports he could quit Manchester City less than three months after he was appointed manager.

Hughes was said to be on the brink of walking out due to worries about his control over transfers and at a time when owner Thaksin Shinawatra's future appears unclear.

However, the former Blackburn manager said: "There have been a lot of rumours flying around but I am not going anywhere and I don't anticipate going anywhere.

"There is a job to do here and I am looking forward to it.

"There is speculation around the club and that has been prevalent since I joined but I am very focused on what I aim to achieve.

"Nothing whatsoever has changed nor has my relationship with [chief executive] Garry Cook. We get on really well."
