Ian backs Clarke

Ian Holloway insisted today that Clarke Carlisle made the right decision to quit Queens Park Rangers for Leeds.

The central defender was a key figure in QPR's promotion campaign after spending the early part of the season recovering from alcohol addiction.

But he turned down a new contract and will play for Leeds tomorrow at Elland Road against his former club. QPR boss Holloway said. "He made the right choice for his own sanity. He needed to get away from London and move closer to his daughter."

New signing Adam Miller could start in midfield after impressing in a midweek reserves game, while Marc Bircham returns from suspension.
