Injury forces Wasps into back-row reshuffle

London Wasps hopes of a third successive Zurich Premiership title will receive a major blow today when flanker Tom Rees is ruled out of Saturday's final against Leicester at Twickenham.

Rees is having a scan on the left knee he injured during the 43-22 semi-final win over Sale on Saturday and the ligament damage will mean at least a month out of action.

With Ireland's Johnny O'Connor, the club's other open side flanker, recovering from a broken hand, Wasps have no option but to press England flanker Joe Worsley into emergency service as No7 against Leicester veteran Neil Back.

O'Connor could be given a pain killing injection to make the replacement's bench, but that would be a huge gamble.

Wasps have used hooker Phil Greening at No7 in previous seasons but a play-off final requires specialist players and that is why Worsley will have to accept the new role.
