Inter face pitch fight

Internazionale were today battling to get their pitch playable for tonight's Champions League game with Arsenal.

It has been raining heavily for four days in Milan and the uncovered San Siro pitch is sodden and Inter were today having to drain the surface.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who will be without Gilberto Silva for a match they must win, said: "It's like being in England. They have good drainage, and I think they have enough experience to handle it."

Wenger will also be without Sylvain Wiltord, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira and Lauren.
