Inter-Lazio off after fan death

12 April 2012

Internazionale's game with Lazio was postponed on Sunday following the death of a Lazio supporter in an incident at a motorway service station.

The fan, named by www.gazzetta.it as 26-year-old Gabriele Sandri, died at the service station near Arezzo.

Police had moved in to quell fighting between rival sets of supporters, according to the reports which suggest Sandri may have died from a gunshot wound.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) moved quickly to postpone the match at the San Siro in Milan while other games will kick off 10 minutes later than scheduled.
