Ireland clash set for November

Chris Jones13 April 2012

England's players will have to wait until November to attempt to collect a £50,000-a-man bonus for winning the Grand Slam.

The Rugby Football Union today revealed England's Six Nations match with Ireland in Dublin - the last of the current campaign, which was postponed due to the foot-and-mouth crisis - will probably be played on the weekend of the 3-4 November.

If that date is confirmed, it would start a run of four matches in as many weeks. England are at home to Australia on 10 November, Romania on 17 November and South Africa on 24 November.

Meanwhile, the RFU said today they are in a straight bidding war with France to stage the 2007 World Cup and that a decision on who will host the tournament will not be known until the end of this year.

The RFU also confirmed a Standard Sport exclusive that they will be spending £1million to returf Twickenham.
