It's quality not quantity for Hodgson

Tough job: Roy Hodgson is aware of the quality of the Premier League

Roy Hodgson is banking on quality rather than quantity to keep Fulham in the Premier League this season.

The squad was so large last term that at times it had to be split in two for training.

But Hodgson, who replaced Lawrie Sanchez just after Christmas, insists he has got the balance right after off-loading more players than he brought in over the summer.

Ahead of tomorrow's opening game at Hull, Hodgson said: "We are very aware that we're in a league where quality is of utmost importance.

"I'd like to think that the quality of our team has improved over these last eight months, and I'd like to think that our teamwork has improved during that time as well."

With Andrew Johnson sidelined with a thigh strain, Hodgson is set to partner Seol Ki-Hyeon and Bobby Zamora in attack.

Mark Schwarzer, 35, will make his League debut for Fulham in goal.
