Jalabert takes fourth stage

Frenchman Laurent Jalabert clinched stage four of the Tour de France after winning a two-man sprint to the line in Verdun.

Jalabert led a breakaway and powered away from Lampre's Belgian rider Ludo Dierckxens in the closing moments of the stage from Huy in Belgium.

Australian Stuart O'Grady managed to hold on to the yellow jersey and struggling Briton David Millar finished in 175th place, a result which leaves him bottom in the overall standings.
