Jimmy Bullard: at Fulham we have to fight for our lives

Needing results: Fulham's Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy Bullard has urged his Fulham team-mates to play for their Premier League lives at Manchester City tomorrow.

The midfielder believes victory could take the fight for survival down to the last game against Portsmouth, because relegation rivals Birmingham City should be beatable at Craven Cottage next week.

Bullard said: "This is a big opportunity. We've still got Birmingham to play which is a big bonus in our situation.

"So we've got to make sure that we keep ourselves in the chase. We've just go to get something from the game because if other results don't go our way we could be down.

"I know I speak for the players when I say I'm tired of not getting the results on the pitch. We're running out of games and even though it could still come down to the last two games if everyone loses this week, we don't want to be doing it that way."

The one fear for Fulham tomorrow is that Birmingham host Liverpool, with Rafael Benitez indicating he is again likely to play a weakened team as the match comes just four days before the Champions League semi-final second leg with Chelsea.
