Johnson clear for crunch game

Martin Johnson is clear to lead Leicester against London Wasps on Saturday in a match that will decide who goes straight to the Zurich Premiership play-off final at Twickenham on 14 May.

Johnson won his appeal against a third yellow card of the season that could have landed him a season-ending ban.

His protest against the caution handed out by referee Chris White following an incident with Saracens forward Ben Russell eight days ago, was upheld.

Announcing the panel's unanimous verdict, chairman Rick Charles said: "We were not convinced there was a fight. We concluded that Johnson was illegally removed from the maul."
