Inter Milan are considering offering £5million for William Gallas as he enters the final year of his contract.
The 31-year-old has not yet discussed a new deal with Arsenal and Inter coach Jose Mourinho is thought to be confident of luring the Frenchman, given the healthy relationship the pair enjoyed at Chelsea.
Mourinho is also keen on signing Ricardo Carvalho from his former club but as talks continue to stall over a deal involving Portuguese midfielder Deco, Gallas is becoming an increasingly tempting alternative.
Gallas has one year remaining on his £80,000-a-week deal after a torrid season in which he was stripped of the captaincy amid rumours of dressing room unrest.
