Kalman called up by Scotland

12 April 2012

Scotland have drafted uncapped Glasgow prop Ed Kalman into their travelling party for Saturday's RBS 6 Nations clash with France.

Kalman, 26, will provide cover for Warriors team-mate Moray Low, who suffered a bout of gastroenteritis on Wednesday night. Low has been named on the bench for the game in Paris.

Kalman joins Glasgow team-mates Alastair Kellock and Dan Parks in travelling as back-up to the 22-man squad.

Scotland team manager Guy Richardson said: "Moray suffered from gastroenteritis, so will not travel with the party.

"The hope would be that he recovers in time to travel to Paris on Friday."

Meanwhile, Perpignan lock Nathan Hines is recovering after undergoing surgery on his knee earlier this week.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "A small piece of cartilage was removed and Nathan will now undergo rehabilitation under the care of our physiotherapists, which usually takes between three to six weeks.

"We will monitor him accordingly."
