Khabib Nurmagomedov aimed a not-so-subtle dig at Conor McGregor following his hugely impressive victory over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242.

Nurmagomedov dominated his opponent to defend his lightweight title in Abu Dhabi, forcing the now-former interim champion to submit via rear-naked chokehold in the third round.

The champion and Poirier embraced following the fight - each paying tribute to the other in their post-fight interviews.

The scenes were a stark contrast to UFC 229 - Nurmagomedov's previous fight where he submitted McGregor before sparking a brawl that would earn him a nine month suspension.

And the Dagestan fighter made his opinions on the Dubliner perfectly clear as he addressed the crowd.

"I don’t understand why I have so much in my life,” he said.

"I want to forget the b******t with the last guy (McGregor).

“Me and Dustin Poirier have showed MMA is about respect and not trash-talking.

"This fight had so much respect unlike my last fight with that b******t guy.”
