Kilbane looks ahead

Kevin Kilbane believes tomorrow's friendly against Brazil in Dublin is ideal preparation for the Republic of Ireland as they gear up for their World Cup qualifiers.

'This is a massive game,' said Everton midfielder Kilbane. 'To play against Brazil is a boyhood dream, so we're all really looking forward to it. We've got the big qualifiers coming up at the start of next season - and these sort of games are what you want.'

Manager Brian Kerr has brought in new players following Ireland's failure to qualify for Euro 2000 and Nottingham Forest's Andy Reid - a Tottenham target - could get a run-out.

Kilbane said: 'Andy looks a tremendous player. I think we knew that before he was in the squad.'
