Knights charge to the top

13 April 2012

Defending play-off champions London Knights completed back-to-back weekend wins with a 4-2 triumph over Belfast Giants at the Docklands Arena last night.

After beating Nottingham 2-1 the previous day, Knights went top of Group A after handing the Giants their second successive defeat. Mark Kolesar and Mikko Koivunoro - a losing finalist with Newcastle last season - put London2-0 ahead.

Giants defenceman Doug Searle cut the deficit before Knights captain Bryan Richardson and Kevin Riehl traded powerplay goals. Mark Dutiaume scored the last goal with 16 seconds left.
