Kournikova out of Kremlin Cup

Russia's Anna Kournikova crashed to a painful 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 defeat at the hands of little-known compatriot Galina Fokina - the world No251 - in the first round of the Kremlin Cup.

Kournikova, 20, who has been attempting another comeback after missing much of the year with a foot injury, was knocked out of the $2.185 million tournament by the 17-year-old wild card in 75 minutes.

It was Fokina's first-ever win on the WTA tour, while Kournikova has lost all her matches since her return.
