Le Saux urges positive thoughts

Southampton defender Graeme Le Saux has urged his team-mates today to steer clear of the European jitters which wrecked Chelsea's hopes three years running.

The Saints take on Steaua Bucharest of Romania tonight at St Mary's tonight in a UEFA Cup first round clash.

Le Saux helped Chelsea reach the Champions League quarter-finals in 2000 but then three times saw their UEFA Cup hopes ended early.

Le Saux said: "We were dumped out in fairly unceremonious style. It is important to draw on those experiences while not being swamped by negative thoughts."
