Lewington: We won't be dragged into drop zone

Ray Lewington believes Watford can overcome their poor form in the league and avoid a relegation battle at the foot of the Championship.

The Carling Cup semi-finalists - who play Liverpool over two legs in January - dropped to 16th in the table following Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Stoke.

Manager Lewington said: "In football, you have to enjoy the highs and accept the lows when they come.

"The players will have to just keep plugging away. It's been such a decent season in terms of performances and we won't let the disappointment of individual defeats stop us believing that what we're doing is right.

"We've got to keep believing in each other and trusting that by being positive about everything we do results will start to go our way again."

Watford will face Lewington's former club Fulham at home in the third round of the FA Cup.
