Leyton Orient to let Bayes go

13 April 2012

Leyton Orient manager Paul Brush will release goalkeeper Ashley Bayes when his contract expires this summer.

The 29-year-old, who was signed from Exeter, has spent three years at Brisbane Road but has been hampered by a shoulder injury this season.

Brush said: "He's been unlucky with his injury but he needs a new challenge.

"I will have no hesitation in picking him for our remaining games. He is very capable.

"However, I am looking for a different kind of goalkeeper, a tall, imposing figure."

In the long term youngster Glenn Morris is being groomed to take over the position.
